KAMA LINDEN

'I look hotter than people 10 years younger, sing better...'

Kama Linden

Better late than never... why that title?
It describes everything from always racing against the clock: to work, to get married and have a kid, career, to the fate of getting old and death... being told you are TOO OLD for the music biz at 30 when you are just beginning to hone your talents and gosh, I look hotter than people 10 years younger, sing better... and you can really do and learn anything you put your mind to at ANY age! Determination is the key... better late than NEVER!

What about the production?
Mixes are done by COve City SOund STudios... JLO, Celine Dion, Anastacia, Billy Joel... all came out of there. Richie Cannata saved my project when the D**KHead former producer took my $ did a shit job, molested me, physically and literally, and wouldnt stand up to his mistakes. He was jealous that after 20 plus years in the biz his career never took off, but because he is unfocused, and has more attitude than talent and determination.

Is this album different from your debut?
WAY Different. a) the vocals are polished and the mixes are CLEAN... one of my FAVORITE songs is a simple jazzy piano ballad as if in a live cabaret.... there is a storyline from beginning to end.... I have to send you the INTERIOR to read the story behind it....

Could you describe the process of writing a song?
Let it stop me in the middle of my tracks, or wake me in the middle of the night... get out of bed or pull over, write it one receipts or something till I can get home and type it out.... sometimes I leave myself phone messages so I dont forget the melody. Add chords.... voila!

How important are your lyrics?
LYRICS ARE THE SONG!

It is said you use music as a therapy.. can you explain?
Keeps me from going POSTAL or jumping off a bridge. Keeps me from killing people who deserve it (go to: If looks could kill, track 4!)

What do you think of the music industry today?

  • What screwed me over was a bad decision to go with a "label" that basically takes money from people and keeps it and does nothing with it.... I put out UNINHIBITED 3 times: once as an INDIE with a red label. Again with the LABEL that screwed over many people including the guys who are doing my mastering... they were sheisters... they change company names constantly.... they look for people with money and a dream..... they take BOTH! I put it out one more time under the UK label... he got into a bad accident so I ended up doing everything myself... more $$$.... but I work.... I teach fitness.... but I wanted BETTER LATE to be OVER THE TOP... new, Different, currrent yet also more about the story, the lyric, and show off EVERYTHING I can do. Spent money on two crappy producers before getting to COVE CITY.... people think they should be paid because they WORK on something, but not because they do a good job. I am targeting liscencing.... more than anything else... shoot, one song on a WB show can pay for the whole album! well, maybe TWO! FINE! But new year, new you..... putting this baby out ONCE and ONCE ONLY!
